My name is Caitlin Felice. I am a registered dietitian and a foodie. I was a dual major at Syracuse University with bachelors degrees in nutrition and policy studies. I have been practicing as a Registered Dietitian throughout the Baltimore area since 2010 working in leading area hospitals and outpatient clinics. I love spending time grocery shopping, meal planning and prepping for healthy meals. I believe strongly in the quote “fail to plan, plan to fail” as it is easier to eat fun, healthy and well all week long when you’ve given it a little thought ahead of time.   My family and I are busy, just like I am sure you are and I understand that it can be challenging and difficult to plan meals for the week ahead. My goal and aspiration is to make meal planning, grocery shopping, and eating healthy, easier and more enjoyable for you.

My philosophy:

Food should provide you with the essential nutrients you need to be healthy. It should be consumed as close to its natural form as possible. With that being said food should taste good. You shouldn’t eat something that tastes like tree bark just because you think it is healthy. We should eat healthy most days to power our bodies and to keep us at our very best. Let’s be honest though, some days after a long day at work you want a warm and satisfying meal, a salad just won’t cut it.

I believe no food should be off limits. Who am I to tell you not to eat ice cream during the summer or your favorite holiday meal? Deprivation is the root of all evil when it comes to eating healthy. If you deprive yourself, more likely than not you will eventually cave and go off the deep end. If you love pizza, you should eat pizza, but you should eat it less often than healthy food and not in mass quantities.

We should all eat REAL food. What do I mean by this? Well you can have some of that fat free, sugar free, dairy free, grain free, what-the-heck-is-in-it anyways ice cream by the gallon full OR you can have a small bowl of the real thing, which we all know is what you really want. Of course, substitutions may be necessary for certain health conditions.

The kitchen is my favorite room in our home. It is often where we gather when we have friends and family over. There is a true satisfaction when you are able to cook with love and feed the people you care for delicious and nourishing food. Along with that, I enjoy feeding my family delicious healthy food all week long, no matter how busy we are. My favorite time of the week is creating a grocery list and heading off to the store, and then planning our meals out. Let me share my passion for meal planning and eating healthy with you. I will meal plan and grocery shop so that you don’t have to!
